July 2024 Update

Over the last few months we have continued to work closely with our club’s project team towards finalising the DA plans for the exciting redevelopment of the Forestville RSL Club which we hope to submit within the next few months.

Our redevelopment will modernise the club, diversify our revenue to reduce our reliance on gaming and secure our Club’s financial position so that we can continue to serve our community for the next 70 years.  Importantly also, the club will continue to function throughout the development and will retain, at all times, ownership of all new buildings as well as the land.

To ensure the project continues to move forward once we have achieved our DA Approval, we’re also currently undertaking early planning towards the naming of key sections of the new boutique retirement community.

As part of this process, we want to give our members and the local community the chance to be part of our Club’s future, by inviting them to suggest names for the buildings in our brand-new retirement community.

Heart of Forestville Naming Competition

We believe our redevelopment is a milestone moment in our Club’s history and we want all members and residents from the local community to have their say in what parts of our new retirement community are named.

We’re encouraging club members, local schools and community groups to enter the Heart of Forestville Naming Competition. In line with the club’s values of giving back to the local community, each lucky winner will be rewarded with a $500 donation from the club to their nominated local community group or charity.

Key areas we’re seeking suggestions for include:

-       Buildings 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Boutique retirement living community

The club encourages entrants to consider name ideas that reflect our Club and community’s values and history, while also embracing its future. Ideas might include names with local or cultural relevance reflecting the heritage and local history of Forestville residents, events, the community, its values or landscape.

As important as the names themselves is the reasoning behind them being suggested, so we’ll be asking entrants to explain why they think it’s a good name for our club to consider.
