June 2024 Update

We are pleased to provide the following project update to our valued club members and local community residents.

Over the last 12 months we have encouraged our members and community to share their ideas and feedback on our redevelopment plans to ensure that we continue to serve and support our local community in the areas that matter to them.

One of the key priorities that has been raised by locals and members over this period has been the importance of ensuring that the new Forestville RSL Club facilities continue to welcome and cater to families, in particular children.

It has been wonderful to hear how highly valued the Club is currently to families and how well-suited it is for family gatherings and get togethers.

Of course, we understand there are always opportunities to strengthen how we welcome families to ensure they continue to enjoy our facilities and so we are very much committed to shaping a family friendly place during the design and planning phase of our new club facilities.  This includes creating more user-friendly spaces of differing sizes able to cater easily for families and groups.

We are pleased to share that the new club facility designs which are currently being finalised will offer a high-quality club experience for all ages and family groups.

Throughout the design process our architect has worked to deliver a wider range of entertainment, dining options and public meeting spaces, and create an even more family-friendly environment.

Design features of the new club facilities include:

  • Meeting and function spaces suited to family events, parties, weddings, bingo and local community group meetings

  • A number of purpose-built kids play areas suitable for children ranging from toddlers through to teenagers

  • Various food offerings including a café, restaurant, bar food, traditional pub food, bistro and Asian restaurant

  • A number of lounge areas, suitable for both quiet gatherings and busier group catch ups of varying sizes, both indoors and outdoors

  • Multiple bar areas including within the sports bar and gaming areas

  • Covered parking with lift access into the heart of the club

  • Drop off at the front of the club, with accessible access

  • Staffed entry point

  • RSL displays and branch office

In addition to our family-friendly focus on the new club facilities, we remain committed to our mission as an RSL Club.  As such, we would also like to assure our members and the local community that ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day planning and commemorative services will remain a top priority of the Forestville RSL Club. To ensure that we deliver on this commitment we are working closely with our RSL sub-Branch, who have ultimate custodianship of these revered services.

As always we encourage our members and local community to reach out to us if they have any questions via www.heartofforestville.com.au .

We look forward to keeping you updated on our progress in the months and years ahead.

Regards,

Tony Mooney, President and Ian Thomson, CEO
Forestville RSL
