May 2026 Update
Redevelopment Design Phase Update
The Club’s redevelopment project has now reached an important stage, with work continuing toward finalising the design phase of both the proposed Club redevelopment and the associated Independent Living Units (ILU) component.
The design phase is widely regarded as one of the most important parts of any major redevelopment project, as it is during this stage that the overall vision for the site is carefully refined into a detailed, coordinated and practical plan for delivery.
For a project of this scale and complexity, it is essential that the Club redevelopment and Independent Living Units are designed in an integrated manner to ensure the precinct operates cohesively, efficiently and sustainably into the future. This involves extensive planning, specialist consultant input and ongoing assessment to balance operational, financial, community and resident outcomes.
Key considerations during the design phase include:
Improving member facilities and amenity within the Club
Enhancing dining, hospitality and community spaces
Ensuring efficient operational layouts and patron flow
Integrating shared infrastructure, access and servicing arrangements
Addressing traffic, parking and pedestrian movement
Positioning the overall development for long-term sustainability and financial strength.
Finalising the design before progressing further is essential to help minimise project risk, avoid unnecessary costs and provide greater certainty around approvals, construction and future operations. Decisions made during this phase have a significant influence on the long-term success, functionality and financial viability of the entire redevelopment.
While this phase requires considerable time and detailed assessment, the Board believes it is critical that the Club adopts a measured and considered approach to ensure the redevelopment delivers a high-quality outcome for members, future residents and the broader community for many years to come.
The Board will continue to keep members informed as the project progresses through the next stages of planning, approvals and delivery.
