June 2025 Update
We’re pleased to share an update on the progress of our club redevelopment project. Our team has been working tirelessly to ensure the new club facility meets the current and future needs and expectations of our members and the community and we have highlighted below some key outcomes:
DA Update
We are pleased to report that another productive meeting was held with the Council this week, covering individual matters raised in their RFI, including waste, parking, land contamination, urban design, material finishes, street setback, and other topics. All matters raised were resolved in a collaborative and constructive manner by all concerned.
Progress on Internal Club Design
Over the past three months, our team has dedicated substantial time to refining the internal design of the new club. This has included visiting more than 10 other recently redeveloped and brand-new clubs and hotels in NSW, QLD and the ACT.
During their visits, the team strengthened their awareness of current trends in fitout and design elements. They also spoke in detail to the resident club’s team members and club members about the operational outcomes and enhanced customer experience they have achieved.
This research is ongoing and is helping us shape a modern, functional, and welcoming space that our members and their guests will enjoy for many years to come.

Significantly Additional Club Parking is Welcomed
We understand how challenging the Club’s current parking arrangements can be during busy times and especially in bad weather. That’s why we’re excited that the plans, as submitted, feature around 200 undercover car parks with direct access to the club. Given the Club currently only has 74 outdoor car parks, this huge increase in parking is certain to make visiting the club a much more enjoyable experience for everyone in the future. There will also be a covered drop-off area for people being dropped off and picked up at the front door of the club.
More Open Space to Enjoy
Another feature we’re proud to have included in our recently updated Development Application (DA) design is a spacious open area on the southern side of the club. This beautifully landscaped space will feature plenty of greenery and lawn, making it a perfect place for our members, their children and visitors to relax and connect. This additional outdoor space means that there will be approximately 450m2 of open green space included in the development, providing a similar experience to that currently offered by Pickets.
Expressions of Interest to Open in July
Due to strong community demand and in the full understanding that the Development Application is yet to be determined, the Forestville RSL Club has decided to invite Expressions of Interest (the EOI) for Garraway, the Retirement Village proposed as part of Forestville RSL Club’s redevelopment.
The EOI will be an opportunity for the community and club members to express their interest in being updated on Garraway in the coming months. We encourage our members and the local community to stay tuned for the EOI launch in July. We will notify our members and Heart of Forestville subscribers as soon as this opportunity arises.
